League Comes down hard on Bruno.
"I have been singled out from the start and the league is waiting for me to screw up..." Thats what the star of the NDGBHL had to say after the league handed him a 1 game suspension for his previous actions at last weeks award ceremony. His agent had only to say that his client is sorry for his actions and will serve this suspension and be back for action next game day. The league is now entering into a mini tournament to compensate for the lower attendance during the past games hoping that this will boost interest into the blossoming league.

Nick Chow Shines Just In Time for Saint Sid
The big star of the night was Nick Chow with an impressive spectacle between the pipes making his rival Trott at the lonely end of the rink look like a peewee player. Chow was sprawling, splitting, bending, diving and stopping nearly everything that got remotely close to the net.
Hugo, the Brazilian ex footballer, was battling a terrifying case of gastro, and letting everyone smell its effects.
The High Desert Vipers squared off against the DDO Penguins a few hours ago and the results were pretty split. Each team won one game and time ran out during the third as the DDO Penguins were up 3-1. The remainder will have to be played next week.
In other news Sidney Crosby will be making a guest appearance next week. He accepted Trott's invitation and will be playing centre for the High Desert Vipers when the puck drops at 6pm.
Here are the stats for this week:

Alfredo and League Outraged!
After the childish antics of Bruce Carbone during and after the awards ceremony, the league is reviewing whether or not any actions should be taken. Rumors have it that his awards are in danger of being taken away. At a last minute press conference the NDGBHL commissioner was quoted as saying "We can not have players that represent this league acting in such a way that can smear its reputation...". We will know what the league's decision is later into next week. We hope that recent issues do not endanger opening night festivities.
Awards Ceremony.
Despite all the controversy surrounding Mr. Carbone, he managed to pull out ahead and win the scoring race.
"There was never a doubt in my mind that I wasn't going to win both the Art Ross and the Maurice Richard," he was quoted as saying at a press conference after snatching the awards.
Rod picked up the M.I.P. He started off the season slow but got his legs soon after and netted an astounding 5 goals and 3 assists.
The Hart Memorial award went to Alfredo Costantini for his consistent domination every night he came out to play. Carbone's lawyers have contested this, and he plans to take the trophy from Costantini and then sell it on ebay.
The Vezina goes to Mike Correa for his consistency in nets and despite the early season injury he became a wall in the last line of defense.
Nick Chow picked up the Bill Masterton for his perserverance and sportsmanlike conduct.
Joe was given the Frank J. Selke for top defensive forward.
Alfredo also tried to give himself the Lester B. Pearson (Most Outstanding Player as selected by the NBHLPA) but instead it was awarded to Nick T. after Carbone snatched it out of Costantini's hands mid ceremony.
Tim got the Calder.
Vince received the Lady Byng (Most Sportsmanlike).
And Dan, well Dan got nothing. Though rumours have it that he's quitting professional ball-hockey altogether for ad hoc renovations.
The next season is set to start this Saturday at 6pm at St. Raymond's Community Centre.
